David William Mays Sr.'s Obituary
David William Mays, Sr., 68, of Keymar, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, David was the son of the late Edwin and Dorothy Mays. He was predeceased by his brother Tommy Mays.
David was a man who loved deeply and lived simply—his greatest joys came from playing guitar and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Whether strumming a favorite tune or sitting around the table with family, he found happiness in the small moments that made life meaningful.
He is survived by his daughter Alison Mays; his son David Mays (Jill); his beloved grandchildren Tyler, Dayana, and Audrey; and his former wives, Karen Mays Raffell, and Kelly Collins Mays. David also leaves behind his sister Sarah Wilson and brother Eddie Mays (Billy).
A Celebration of Life will be held in October, with details to follow. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of a father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose quiet presence left a lasting mark.
