Mr. Darrel Thaddeus Coach, 71, of Frederick, passed away on April 6, 2022 at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy.
Born July 19, 1950 in the Bronx, New York City, Darrel was the son of the late Sandy Coach and the late Eileen Louise Coach. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Brooklyn College and received his Master’s Degree in Health from Long Island University. Darrel worked for the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation in the Pre-Release Center as a Correctional Specialist Care Manager, where he was known as “Coach”. He loved playing the slot machines at Atlantic City, and was a huge fan of classic sci-fi and horror movies.
Darrel is survived by his aunt, Evelyn King; his sister, Annemarie Gibbs; nieces Eileen Anderson and Ericka Thompson (Chris); and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Philip Alexander Coach and Walter David Coach, and his nephew, David Orane.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 16th at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 B Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick. Floral tributes are welcome.
