Dakota Leo James of Pittsburgh, PA formerly Jefferson, MD, passed from this life on Monday, March 6, 2017. Born on June 21, 1993, in Frederick MD, he was the son of Jeffrey Lynn James and Pamela Dawn (Meadows) James. Everyone will remember Dakota for his unique personality, his ability to make friends of all ages, his smile and his love for his family and friends. In pursuit of furthering his education, Dakota was building a future full of potential. Dakota graduated from Brunswick High School in June 2011 and from West Virginia University in May 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics/Logistics. He was attending Duquesne University pursuing his MBA and had future plans to attend law school. He is survived by his parents Pamela Dawn James and Jeffrey Lynn James, brother Shayne Lee James, sister-in-law Christine Sheridan, nephew Elias Lee James, maternal grandparents Harold and Dottie Meadows, paternal grandparents Donald and Mary James and Patricia and John Thompson, aunts and uncles, Amanda James and Chris Cooper, Angela and Ed Milum and Kelly Serra, God father, Mark Hays, cousins Amani and Sean Baxter and Peter Serra, best friends Lauren Stadnick Herrity and Jerry Briggles. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from many states across the country. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, Maryland. A Memorial Service has been planned for Friday, March 24, 5:00pm at the American Legion, 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick, Maryland 21702. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702, calling hour is 12:00-1:00, service 1:00pm and internment following at Resthaven Cemetery, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
