Obituary
Mrs. Cleo D. Scyphers, 90, of Walkersville, passed away at Frederick Memorial Hospital on November 30th. She was the loving wife of Harry C, Scyphers for 68 years. Born May 5, 1925, in Oneida, Tennessee, to the late Emby and Tempie Harness Daugherty. Cleo graduated from Oneida High School in 1943 and later came to Washington, DC, during World War II to work at the Navy Department. She is survived by her children; Mike Scyphers, Diane Blake, and Cheryl Standifer. Brother; Eugene Daugherty. Grandchildren; Stephanie Blake, Dale Scyphers, Daniel Blake, Carol Badaracco, Brian Standifer, Sharon Jerman, and Amy Standifer. Great-Grandchildren; Corinne Badaracco, Nora Badaracco, and Harper Jerman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Vernon Daugherty and sisters; Pauline Harris and Clo Sager. A visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, December 5th, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15N in Frederick, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Tim Webster, officiating. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fredericktowne Baptist Church, 8645 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793 or the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org).
