Clarence M. "Barney" Fogle died peacefully at home on September 2, 2015 with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. He was the husband of the late Doris M. Fogle whom he married on July 3, 1948. Born October 31, 1924 he was the son of the late Clarence and Alice Fogle. Clarence Graduated from Frederick High School in 1941. After high school he joined the Army Air Corps as a Radar Operator and served in WWII. During his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Star and the WWII Victory Ribbon. After the war Barney returned home and worked for Wilson Stove, Wachter Brothers and later went to work for Kaemph & Harris/R. W. Warner, Inc. as an Estimator/Accountant. He retired from there after over 50 years of service to take care of his ailing wife. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11, Elks Lodge 684 and Moose Lodge 371. He and his wife loved to go to all the dances and events held by these organizations. Barney loved to dance. Playing baseball as a young man made him an avid baseball lover. He really didn't care who was playing as long as he got to watch. He is survived by his loving son & daughter-in-law, Michael L. & Theresa A. Fogle, and his daughter Joanne E. Orye; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Charles (Dolly) and Harry (Martha) and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Nancy, Mary Jane and Betty. Visitation will be at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD 21701 on Wednesday, September 9th from 5:00 to 7:00PM, with a memorial service and military honors at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Barney's name to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702. .
