Cindy Lee Schmeltz's Obituary
Cindy Lee (Zufall) Schmeltz finally joined the Lord on February 10, 2024, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Cindy was born March 27, 1939, in Baltimore Maryland. she was the eldest daughter of radio personality, musician, and entertainer "Happy Johnny" Zufall. During the course of her childhood, she lived in multiple states finally settling in Frederick Maryland where she began her family entertaining years playing the upright bass.
Shortly after graduating Frederick High School, she went on a blind date and met the man she would marry. Cindy and Robert got married February 22, 1958.
Cindy is survived by her husband Robert, four daughters Nancy Long, Bonnie (Forrest) Hickling, Sharon (Skip) Clark and Linda (Aaron) Sherman and her sister Nancy (Howard) Strine.
Grandchildren Chris, Lindsay, Dwayne, Jesse and Adam Clark, Vance and Jenny Hickling and Emily and Dylan Fuller) Sherman. she was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents "Happy Johnny" and "The Gal" Yvonne Mae Zufall, her brother Thomas Zufall and Son in Law Robbie Long.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of The Memory Care Unit at Citizens Nursing Home and Hospice nurse Patty Chuey. It takes an extra special person to do what you all do and for that we are grateful.
A visitation will be held on February 17, 2024, from 11 am to 12pm at Resthaven Funeral Home and Crematory Inc, 9501B Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick MD 21701, with funeral services to follow at 12pm.
