Obituary
Christopher Arne Molander, 58, of Myersville, MD passed away on Friday, February 3rd. Chris was born in Bethesda, MD and grew up in Orange County, CA and Gaithersburg, MD. He spent several years in Colorado early in his career before settling in Myersville, MD. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Arne Bengt Molander and Anna Maria Molander. Chris is survived by Kathy, his wife of 28 years, his two daughters Kate (Brad) and Jessie (and partner Gavin), his son Danny (and partner Madison), and his brother Mark (Mary) of Cary, NC. He is also survived by a large, loving, and supportive extended family. Chris was excited to soon welcome his first grandchild.Chris will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of family and friends. His optimistic spirit and hope was truly contagious. Chris never met a stranger. He was dedicated to the Boy Scouts and loved his Boy Scout family. He served 13 years, camping and attending Philmont multiple times. He loved to cook, talk, play guitar, paint, sail, golf, talk, spend family time at the beach, follow the stock market, do all types of puzzles, and talk. He was an avid reader with a brilliant mind. After giving it a good shot at being a musician in the early 80's power pop band "The Kids", Chris got a Bachelor of Science degree at Phoenix University. He worked as a Systems Programmer for MCI, First Data, Fannie Mae, and the U.S. Senate, where he worked as a manager of Database Administrators. His accomplishments in every aspect of his life are too great to put into words.A public service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Community church in Middletown, MD on Friday, February 10th at 1:00 pm, and interment on Saturday, February 11th at 10:30 am at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum in Frederick, MD. A donation to the American Cancer Society.
