Christopher B. Gallo's Obituary
On June 17, 2026, Chris lost his valiant battle with cancer. Family and friends had rallied around him his last few days sharing memories and love. Chris was comfortable and at peace at the end.
Born in Frederick on December 20, 1996, Chris was the eldest of three brothers. He graduated from Urbana High School in 2015 as a Captain of the Urbana Hawks ice hockey team.
Chris attended Montgomery College and the University of Maryland studying computer science and video production. He began his career with WDVM in Hagerstown, helping them transition to a studio in DC. Chris was currently working with the morning news team at WRC-TV, NBC4, in DC. His colleagues at NBC4 were incredibly caring and supportive over the last 2 years.
Chris will be remembered for his kind, relatable nature, his selfless attitude, and his dry humor, which he kept throughout his battle with cancer.
Chris enjoyed ice hockey, soccer, League of Legends, Logic, skiing, the beach, and any adventure with his brothers and friends. For many years Chris had wanted to visit Italy. This trip was realized with his family in the spring of 2025.
Chris is survived by his parents, Anne and Michael, brothers Peter and John, grandfathers John Mason and Vincent Gallo, grandmother Kathy Gallo, Uncle John Mason (Ellen), Aunt Sue Corbett (Sean), Aunt Shari Gallo (Nick), 7 cousins, and many more extended family members.
Chris will be remembered by best friend Chris Dimitriadis and wife Alyssa, Sean and Marissa Maginnis, Thomas Harrigan and fiancé Le An Nguyen, Michael and Miranda Mitchell, Donald Smith and partner Clark Mitchell, and many more friends and coworkers.
Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, June 29th. The viewing will begin at 1 pm with a brief service starting at 2 pm. Chris requested an open casket. Chris will be cremated and internment will be private at a later date. Please dress casually and, in lieu of flowers, make a donation in Chris' name to the American Cancer Society.
