It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Ann Mech, beloved wife, sister, and esteemed professional. Christine, born on February 8, 1961, in Jersey City, NJ, was the daughter of the late George L Anzelone and Joanne C Anzelone nee Deis. She peacefully departed this world on January 7, 2024, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of all who knew her.
Christine dedicated her career to the field of histoctechnology, making significant contributions as a histotechnologist with the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick. Her expertise and passion for her work were unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on the scientific community.
Beyond her accomplished professional life, Christine will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She was a cherished wife to her husband, Lenny Mech, with whom she shared countless treasured moments. Additionally, Christine leaves behind her brother, Anthony Anzelone, who will forever hold her close in his heart. She also leaves behind a sister, Eleanor Anzelone of Milford NY and Brother, George Lawrence Anzelone Jr and his longtime partner Shirley Rathbone of Fly Creak NY and nephew Michael Anzelone and a grandniece Jordan Anzelone Fly Creak NY.
A celebration of life to remember and honor Christine's remarkable life will be held on January 26, 2024, at 11 am at Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, 9501B Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701. Interment will take place following services; the family will also be hosting friends and family at the funeral home following the burial for a time of food and fellowship.
