Obituary
Ms. Cheryl Ann Rickerds, 63, of Thurmont, MD was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on August 27, 2022 surrounded by her treasured family.
Cheryl was born July 10, 1959 to the late John and Gloria Rickerds in Baltimore, MD. Cheryl spent her life caring for others, including working the past 30 plus years in the same nursing home. She loved the residents and in return, was loved by them and their families. She brought comfort and joy to many with her infectious laugh and caring spirit. She was an avid reader and free spirit. To know her was to love her. The loves of her life were her daughters and grandchildren. She was a strong, independent woman and mother, and an incredible Nan-Nan. She will be missed beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Rickerds and sister Meschelle Rickerds.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Christine Collins (Eric) and Ashley Harrison (Davey), and her beloved grandchildren Cameron, Anya, Alaina, Gabe, Lizzy and Paislee. Two brothers William Baxley (Betty) and John Baxley (Cindy) of Raeford NC, and sister Dawn Buchanan (Art), as well as several nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday September 1st at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Dorsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Frederick Health and Rehab, 30 North Place, Frederick MD 21701, for the continued care of Polo her beloved Labrador fur baby, the facility therapy companion.
