Obituary
Charlotte Elizabeth Patton passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Born July 3, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Charlotte Peters, Charlotte joined the US Army in 1945 as a nurse on The Republic, where she met her future husband, William. She settled in Maryland with her late-husband to raise a family, where she remained until her passing. The matriarch of a large family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Charlotte’s hobbies included spinning yarn, weaving, lace making as well as enjoying numerous trips and experiences with her family. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman with a big smile.
She is survived by five children, Pam, Valerie, Cynthia, Melissa and Jeff; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy. She was predeceased by her husband, William, her daughter, Stephanie, and her grandson, Jon.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Tuesday, May 25th at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking the tab below. Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
