Mr. Charles "Buckles" Diggs, Sr., 74, of Frederick, MD departed this life Thursday, November, 10 2017. He was husband of the late Doris L. Diggs for 42 wonderful years. He is survived by one son, Charles "Bug" Diggs, Jr.; one daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Diggs-Barnett (Howard) and grandson, Dimitri Dixon; all of Frederick, MD. Charles, lovingly and locally known as "Buckles" graduated from Lincoln High School in Frederick. Following graduation he began his career with Montgomery County Public Schools, where he retired after nearly 35 years of service. He began his spiritual journey at Jackson United Methodist church, where he once served as a Trustee, Usher and on the United Methodist Men Ministry. Buckles had a passion for cars and speed as well as music, especially oldies but goodies. He was well known for his famous race car "Double Trouble". He was a loyal and enthusiastic New York Giants, Yankees and Knicks fan. Our beloved also leaves his siblings, Mrs. Delores Shackelford of Walkersville, MD; Mr. Harlan Diggs (Elizabeth) of Kearneysville, WV; Mr. Eugene Diggs of Silver Spring, MD and Mr. David Diggs of Martinsburg, WV as well as two sister in laws, Rhoda Diggs and Sharon Adams (John) of Martinsburg, WV and a loving host special nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish his memory. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles (Sam) and Jesse Diggs; he was also preceded in death by brother Eldredge Diggs and a sister Carlene Diggs Musser. He will be remembered by several devoted family members and friends like Charles and Elaine Smallwood, Larry Spencer and James Edwards. There will be a public viewing on November 16, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at Rollins Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. A celebration of Charles' life will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at Jackson United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike; Frederick, MD, with Rev. Rex Bowens officiating. Family hour will be held 10:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
