Carolyn Leigh Lyle's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn Leigh Lyle. She went home to our Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the age of 83. She was born on February 19, 1943 to the late John and Irene Orsini.
She was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Wheaton, MD. She married Bobby Lyle in 1964. They cherished and adored each other for 62 years! Bobby and Carolyn raised their nephew, Donny Tinsman II, as if he were their own, and poured so much love and happiness into his life.
Carolyn was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her sweet spirit and incredible selflessness made her one-of-a-kind. You could count on finding her near the music, humming along, especially when her husband Bobby was playing. She went on many adventures with her mom Irene, sister Pam, and cousin Peggy. Some say laughter could be heard two states away when that crew got together. Carolyn loved to spend time with her nieces Kaitlyn and Natalie and that usually included good food, great conversations, most likely some cards, and always lots of love and laughter.
She worked for Geico Insurance Agency until retirement as a data processor. Later, Carolyn was deemed World’s Greatest Babysitter, by all who knew her, and took impeccable care of many children throughout the years, including her great nephew and niece, Blake and Camryn.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Robert S. Lyle. Her brother, John Orsini Jr. (Veronica), and her sister, Pamela Stanton (Jac); her nephews, Donny Tinsman III and Chris Orsini and niece, Natalie Stull (Wayne); her great nephews, Donny Tinsman III., Brett Tinsman (Alina), and Blake Fisher; her great nieces, Kaitlyn Thomé (Eddie) and Camryn Fisher; and her great, great nephews, Aiden and Max Tinsman. Along with her favorite cousin (are we allowed to say favorite?), Peggy Thomas.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, Maryland. Friends and family will be welcomed from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2026. A reception will follow at the home of Wayne and Natalie Stull.
