Obituary
Carole Antoinette Schaub of Mt. Airy departed this life at sunset on Sunday, November 26, 2017 to be with her husband Frederick and son Gary at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was the beloved mother of Lisa Reid and husband Michael of Libertytown, Eric Schaub and wife Rosale of Adamstown, Dina Mundy of Eldersburg and Alex Schaub and wife Kim of Mt Airy. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Ryan Reid and wife Silvia, Carolyn Lucas and husband Chris, Sydney Moller and husband Grant, Dr. Lauren Mundy, Lindsay Schaub, Carly Schaub and great grandchildren Jordan, Samantha and Noah Reid, Benjamin Lucas, Brian Moller and baby girl Lucas. Born in Detroit Michigan on December 15, 1938 she graduated from Harper Woods High School before attending Wayne State University. There she met and married Fred in 1957. They had five children before moving to Maryland in the mid 1960's. They moved to their little farm in Mt Airy in 1973 where for many years she raised champion collies from her kennels Kimblewyck and enjoyed riding horses. Carole was an active member in the foxchasing community with the New Market Hounds, Taylorsville Hounds, Carrollton Hounds and was an honorary member of the Howard County- Iron Bridge Hounds where she and Fred were active in preparing many special dinners and breakfasts for club gatherings. Carole started working when her youngest started school. She was a Lexicographer for Aspen Systems before retiring from Comsat. Surviving in addition to immediate family are a sister, Linda Darnton of Gaylord Michigan, a brother, Mark Loch and wife Jan of Hockessin, Delaware, sister in law, Mary Janis and husband Jerry of Durango, Colorado and sister in law Millie Schaub of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday December 15, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 9201 Church St., Libertytown, Maryland with the Rev. Jason Worley as celebrant. The family will receive friends Immediately following the mass across the street in the Sappington Hall from 12-2pm . Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Garden, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy (U.S 15 North) Frederick, Maryland following the reception.
