Carl Thomas Dove's Obituary
Reverend Carl Dove, of Jefferson, MD, has gone to see His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. He was called to his eternal home December 3, 2024 and is now truly completely free, enjoying the Lord's presence and fellowship with the family of God that has gone before him.
Born Carl Thomas Dove on August 17, 1951 in Rochester, NY to the late Joseph V. and Laura M. (Raso) Dove, Carl spent most of his adult years in Maryland. It was there he met Leisa Harris Dove, the two were wed and enjoyed a blessed marriage.
In his childhood days the Rochester PD dubbed him “the thinker” and he continued pondering, thinking, and searching his spirit for the rest of his life. He was gifted with an operatic tenor voice, yet after a car accident where he narrowly escaped death, he heard the Lord give him the choice of a worldly career in music or one of selflessness and earthly ambiguity, but with a walk and relationship with God that was beyond compare. He chose the latter and was ordained to minister shortly thereafter. He helped thousands of saints across the globe – preaching, teaching, laying hands on the sick and oppressed, sharing the message of a personal walk and communion with the Lord, counseling in the ways and wisdom of God, and representing God’s heart in all he did.
Carl is survived by his wife, Leisa Dove; sisters Linda Gallo (Vincent) of Rochester, NY, Marie Konietzko of Frederick, MD and Laurie Yli-piipari (Raine) of Ocean City, MD; numerous cousins, including special cousins Melina Bates, Robert Noll, Joe Gallo (Rosalba) and Caroline Sudore Carr; nephews, including special nephews Richard Konietzko (Chelsea), Carmin Gallo, Anthony Dove, Joseph Dove (Salome), Thomas Dove, David Dove, and Nicholas Yli-piipari; nieces, including special nieces Gina Crawford (TJ), Sylvia Gallo, and Nina Yli-piipari; grandnephews, including special ones Eli (Alondra), Cody (Sarah), Sam and Ryder; grandnieces, including special ones Emily (Joe), Miah, Carly, Riley, Oakley and Ariella; as well as the members of First Love Fellowship.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Laura Dove; and his brothers Anthony "Tony" Dove and Joseph Dove.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 10am – 11am at the Chapel Mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD, with a funeral service to follow at 11am. A private burial will follow, after which those participating will rejoin guests in the fellowship hall located on the Resthaven grounds.
