Mrs. Brenda Kay (Shifflett) Stream, 56, of Smithsburg, passed away on March 30, 2015. ?Mrs. Stream was born on July 17, 1958 in Olney, Maryland, the daughter of Dorothy Shifflett and the late Frank Shifflett, Sr. Brenda was a graduate of Damascus High School. She was a Division Secretary with NIST for over 22 years. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. She was the family matriarch, a kind and gentle person who provided the energy and focus for gatherings of family and friends. Brenda is survived by her husband of 38 years Paul Raymond Stream of Smithsburg. She is also survived by her two sons, Brian Stream and wife Linda of Hagerstown, and Mike Stream and wife Mandy of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Brody, Nate, Gavin and Skylar. Also surviving are her three sisters Sandra Cooper and husband Robert of Smithsburg, Lorrie Hozhabri and husband Farzan of Mt. Airy, and Deana Ramsburg and husband Chuck of Frederick, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stream will be missed dearly and remembered by many family members and friends, including a very special friend Rita Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father Frank Shifflett, Sr. and brother Frank Shifflett, Jr. The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, April 2nd, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Friday, April 3rd, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Jack Payne officiating. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
