Brenda Burg Nori's Obituary
Born on September 17, 1948, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Brenda grew up to be an avid football fan- but not the Eagles! She was an avid Washington Commanders fan from the moment she moved to Maryland, which she has called home since August 1971.
Brenda's greatest joy was her family. She spent 54 years of marriage with her loving husband, John. She cherished her grandchildren, Aubrey and Emmett, and loved spending time with her son, Timothy, and his wife, Beth, as well as her daughter, Kristin, and her life partner, Bryan. She is also survived by her sister Connie, niece Nicole, and nephew Victor, as well as many nieces and nephews on John’s side of the family. In addition, Brenda was lucky to have cousins who were like siblings. Their close bond gave her love and support.
She began her career and spent six years working for the US Public Health Service as a writer and editor. In 1977, she became a full-time mother and homemaker. She went on to spend many fulfilling years as a medical receptionist, first in a general practice, and later, she was thrilled to be in a pediatrician's office, where her caring nature and easy way with people made her a beloved presence to families and colleagues alike. Plus, she really loved holding all the babies!
She was also blessed with a treasured circle of friends, the "Goddesses," a group of women who had been brought together over years of children's sporting events, PTA, and Booster Club meetings. Their bond became a lasting source of laughter, love, and support. Additionally, she and John were blessed with a phenomenal group of college friends and have maintained close bonds- celebrating with “Big Chill” weekends a few times every year.
She delighted in exploring historical towns like Williamsburg, Virginia. Her passions included collecting baskets, candles, pens, and other odds and ends; discovering new places; and sparking conversation, all of which reflected her curiosity and deep connection to the world. She had a remarkable memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, Maryland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization dear to Brenda.
