Bonnie Andrews-Geisbert's Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Bonnie Andrews-Geisbert of Urbana, (formerly of Middletown) on January 26, 2023, at Frederick Health Hospital. Born on February 5, 1941, in Western Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Agnes Jeanette Neat. Bonnie was the loving wife of Hoodie Geisbert.
She graduated from Valley High School in Lonaconing, Maryland in 1959 and earned her degree to teach at Frostburg. She taught high school English at her alma mater. A gifted musician, she received a full scholarship to Julliard School of Music in New York. Her love of music continued for the rest of her life. She was a dedicated member of the Harmony Band for many years.
Bonnie was a member of the American Legion in Frederick, the Frederick Woman’s Civic Club, Inc, and the Western District of Maryland Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was well known for her piano pieces at the Maryland Federation of Woman’s Clubs annual convention. She treasured her friendships with these organizations as well as her high school classmate’s luncheons. She generously created a music scholarship at Walkersville High School in her late husband’s memory.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard (Andy) Andrews and friend Mathew Shultz.
A Celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 17th, 2023, at Urbana Fire Department, 3602 Urbana Pike Frederick, MD. 21704. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11am. With the memorial service to follow at 11am.
