Mrs. Blanche "Jeanne" Phillips, 82, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at home. She was the wife of the late Silas C. Phillips, Sr., married March 27, 1954. Born April 5, 1933, in Aberdeen, she was the daughter of the late Thurman A. Pearce, Helen W. Renn and George D. "Turk" Renn. She was a 1951 graduate of Frederick High School. Employed at H L Hartz Manufacturing until retiring in 1993. Jean's greatest joy was her husband and her four grandchildren which she continued to greatly love and spoil until her passing. She is survived by her son, Silas C. "Jake" Phillips and wife Jennifer of Thurmont, four grandchildren, Silas J. Phillips of Thurmont and girlfriend Megan Setlock, Richard A. Phillips and wife Brittany of Clarksburg, Edward J. Phillips of Thurmont and Helen O. Tousignaut and husband Michael of Thurmont. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Phillips. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8, on Monday, February 29, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Pastor Todd Westphal will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
