Blaine was an amazing friend and colleague. He and I both worked together and then he supported the Sexual Assault Legal Institute by serving on MCASA's board. We plotted to change laws, help good people become judges, and make the world safer - it sounds like such grim and serious work (and is) but Blaine made it less heavy. He was a leader in so many different communities and such a good person too. Sending love to Blaine's family and other friends
Blaine never met a stranger. He could draw you in & make you feel like the only person in the room. If you had his ear, you were his focus. He played a part in so many people’s lives who knew him longer & more deeply. We know his memory lives on in all those hearts. He married Brian & me just over 5 years ago. We wanted the simplest, shortest ceremony & he delivered. We didn’t need bridesmaids or groomsmen, our wedding party was complete w/our officiant & a ring bear. Blaine tied our knot in 3 minutes flat. It is one of our favorite wedding gifts & will forever be a part of our story. Having our friend witness our love grow & then bind us together before other friends, family & Frederick folk, by the roses near Mullinix Park, is a treasure we share & now a consolation as well.
