Mrs. Beverly Ann Stang's Obituary
Mrs. Beverly Ann (Winpigler) Stang peacefully passed away suddenly on the morning of May 28th.
Born March 11, 1941 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Helen Winpigler. She is survived by her son James Stang (April), grandson Bradley (Angela), great-granddaughter Isla, and her sister Deborah Bowers. In addition to her late husband Luther Stang, Beverly is also predeceased by her daughter Glenda Stang and her siblings Bill Winpigler, Gene Winpigler and Sylvia Selby.
Always one to make people laugh, Bev was quick with a joke. Whether a new friend or old, an enthusiastic smile and a one-liner was going to come your way.
Beverly loved hosting family and friends at her home. From regular Sunday dinners with her husband, children and grandchild to big summer picnics, there was always food and an energetic atmosphere. Beverly was also in charge of the New Years Day dinner that brought everyone together to start the year.
Beverly also hosted card games with Luther in their home, as well as showing her family how to get 500 in rummy.
Beverly worked through the years, starting at Bucheimers, then moving to Rotorex, and lastly working at Carpel, after which she retired.
Beverly’s pursuit of the creative arts through painting ceramics brought delight to many. Those who attended got to see her work displayed with ribbons at the Great Frederick Fair. Many others bought their own for display.
In her older years, she had taken up the hobbies of word-find books and jigsaw puzzles. Always diligent in completing the pages and pictures, she would look forward to the next one as soon as the previous one was done.
The family would like to thank all who helped take care of Mom in the last years at Commonwealth.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, June 7th at Resthaven Funeral Home and Community Center, 9501 B Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 8th. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701.
