Betty Ridgley Betty M. Ridgley, age 88, died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Lorien Assisted Living, Mount Airy, MD. She was the wife of the late Carlton W. Ridgley. Her first marriage of 50 years was to the late Allan G. Browning. Born September 13, 1928 in Fredrick Co, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Helen Moxley Wright of Mt Airy. She was a graduate from Fredrick High School class of 1946. Immediately upon graduation she became employed by Jacob R. Ramsburg Sr., President of Fredrick Underwriters Inc. and continued in the office for 35 years. Also during this time she was secretary to Jacob R. Ramsburg, Sr. in his capacity as State Senator. She was a member of Ridgeville United Methodist Church. Later transferring to Grace Trinity UCC, Fredrick, MD. One of her greatest pleasures was caregiving to her family and friends, especially her special Niece Betty Ann Ramsburg, a love of her life. She also enjoyed the Mt Airy Senior Center, 55 plus club and their day trips, crossword puzzles, and dining. Surviving are one step son, Donald C. Ridgley and wife Susan of Alabama; two step-grand-children Kennith Ridgley and wife Rose of Arizona; Diane Vitas and husband Jason of Ohio; five great grandchildren, one sister Norma J. Ramsburg and husband JR of Thurmont; Nephew J. Ray Ramsburg and wife Holley; Sam Brown; special nieces Eleanor Mouser, Nancy Grimes and numerous special nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by niece Betty Ann Ramsburg, Allan Browning and stepson Dennis Ridgley, nephews Cameron Grimes and Willard Mouser. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 Pm, Thursday, September 22 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD. 20872. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 23 at the funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Elsabeth Hilke, pastor of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, Frederick, will officiate. lnterment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, 9501 Old Baltimore Rd.
