Mrs. Betty Jane Gatrell, 79, formerly of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at the Reeders Memorial Home, in Boosnboro. She was the wife of the late Fred Dennis Gatrell, who died on October 18, 2005. Born in Keedysville, on September 27, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Eva Rosie Earley Rohrer. She was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of the Jefferson United Church of Christ. Surviving is her daughter, Roxann L. Clay and husband William, of Lexington, NC, two brothers, Gary Rohrer and wife Linda,, of GA and Junior Rohrer and wife Janet, of Boonsboro, three sisters, Lillian Kephart, of Keedysville, Peggy Hawker and husband Richard and Cheryl Remsburg and husband David, all of Jefferson, two grandchildren, Brandy Clay and William Clay, two great grandchildren, Rylan and Shyann, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Stottlemyer, Barbara Miller, Mary Aikens and brother, Melvin Rohrer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 6, 2014, from the funeral home. The Revs John and Rebecca Shillingburg, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Jefferson United Church of Christ, P. O.
