Obituary
Bernice May Green, 87, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, died Friday, Sept. 22, of the Frederick Memorial Hospital from an extended illness. Born May 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Howard Williams and Juanita (Jenkins) Williams. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947. She was a retired School Crossing Guard. She was a "prayer warrior" and God's "ambassador." Her mission was to spread the love of God. She was a member of the Gospel Chorus, Inspirational Choir, and the Women's Choir of First Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Green of Frederick; two grandsons, Joshua M. Spivey of Philadelphia, PA and Isaac J. Barnes of Frederick. She will be remembered by a loving and devoted friend, Alice Smith. Also a number of daughter/son friends, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Green; daughter, Helena C. Walker and one son, Harley Smallwood.
