Mrs. Barbara Jean (Marshall) Brubaker, 71, of Frederick, MD, passed away at home on Friday, July 3, 2015. She was the wife of Major John (Jack) Brubaker, Jr. for 50 years. She was the mother of MA1 John Brubaker III, Joel Brubaker (wife Aida), Jodie (Brubaker) Mussio (husband Alexander), and Lara Brubaker. She was the proud Grandmother of Phoenix Brubaker. Barbara is preceded in death by parents Theodore and Verona Marshall and sister Darlene George (husband Luther). She is survived by brothers Ted Marshall (wife Lynn) and Vernon Marshall (wife Elaine); sisters Joan Wiles (late husband George), Judy Wooldridge and Mary Hevner (husband Jerry); and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Barbara retired, as a Registered Nurse, from FMH and graduated from the FMH School of Nursing in 1964. She worked as a RN in Maryland, New Jersey, California, and North Carolina. She attended FCC, working toward an Associate Degree. She was a devout Christian, an Awana Director, a Stephen Minister Leader, a Deacon, and a Member of the Gideon Auxiliary in the Frederick East Camp. She was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren.Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11 am, at the Frederick Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. A Reception will be held at the Frederick Church of the Brethren following the Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Frederick East Camp of the Gideons International, PO Box 3215, Frederick, MD 21705 or to the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
