Mr. Austin E. Hildebrand, 91 of Frederick passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Glade Valley Nursing Home. Born in Frederick on October 25, 1924, he was the son of the late Cornelius Hildebrand and Blanche Tracey. Austin was a retired World War II veteran and enjoyed watching old western movies and books. He liked to hunt in his younger years and feeding the birds and squirrels at home. At the dialysis center that he attended the staff called him "Gus". He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed. Surviving are his wife, Betty, his daughter, Karen Badostain, his two sons, Alan and Barry Hildebrand, daughter-in-law, Kim Hildebrand, and his two grandchildren, Ashley and Paige Badostain. He was proceeded in death by siblings, Catherine Harley, Betty Runk, and Caroline, William and John Hildebrand. The family will receive family and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
