Arlene Katz's Obituary
Arlene Katz, 84, born on June 23, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully after her long battle with dementia on January 29, 2026 at Autumn Lake at Green Valley in Walkersville, MD. A celebration of her life will be had at the Oakdale at Town Center Pool Clubhouse, 6001 Fallfish Court, New Market, MD 21774 on Sunday, February 15th at 1130 am.
Arlene’s legacy is kept alive in her children, Cindy (Wade) Williams and Michael (Odette) Katz. Her grandchildren Lillian (Nathan) Waller, Sydney Katz, and Alex Williams, and her great- grandchildren Karsen, Emma, Lincoln, & Julia Waller.
Known for her infectious smile and the ability to make anyone she meets feel seen and loved, Arlene would fill a room, just by walking into it. She had a gift for hospitality and a sharp eye for design. Arlene was known for delicious cooking and her legendary parties. She took the time and attention to make every detail perfect. Her warm hugs and witty sense of humor leave a lasting impression on anyone that got to know her.
Arlene considered shopping a sport, the only sport she was interested in, and she did it well and for EVERYONE! She never met a stranger and brought a little sparkle, and glam to everyplace she went. You were always greeted with a hug, sent off with a kiss and left with the mark of the lips. She loved her family so very much and showed it every chance she had.
She could sit around a table and talk for hours, reminiscing about the past, laughing through the present, and shining her brightness on the future.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents William and Lillian Levenson, and her adored sisters Sheila Nitzberg and Joan Herman.
Arlene lived a beautiful life filled with family, friends, and so much love and laughter. She will be greatly missed.
