Born October 26, 1944 to the late Charles and Lois Pennington, Nick was originally from the very small, rural town of Saltville, Virginia. Having been diagnosed with spinal meningitis at birth, a condition that created lifelong problems for him, he never let it keep him down or stop him from being fiercely independent during his very fulfilling life. Nick was an avid bicycle rider, and he even once got a "speeding" ticket on Bentz Street in Frederick. He loved watches and police scanners on which he really enjoyed listening to the happenings in the community. He worked at Frederick Memorial Hospital for 11 A½ years in the kitchen. Later working at the Jeanne Bussard Center (JBC) picking up and delivering laundry. It is there where he met his future wife Loretta at a reading class while she worked at JBC also. The couple loved to eat at Denny's Restaurant and really loved spending the holidays with his brother Kenny and his wife Vicki. In addition to his wife, brother and sister-in-law, he is survived by his sister; Sheila. And many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
