Antoinette Marie "Toni" Smith, 74, of Frederick, passed away at University of Maryland Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Michael J. Smith, Sr., her husband of 59 years.Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Marie DiAnglis. She attended St. Tim's Elementary School, and Little Flower High School, as well as Frankfurt High School, where she met her future husband. The most important thing to Toni was her family, although she loved fashion books and shopping (Boscov's was her favorite). Toni's career was in retail; she worked at Sears, successfully running every single department at one time or another (including the Automotive department, the first female to do so). She was so charismatic, there was literally nobody who didn't like her.In addition to her loving husband, Toni is survived by four children, Michael J. Smith, Jr., Donna Marie Roberts and her companion David Bowins, Robert Joseph Smith and his wife Linda, and Dean Paul Smith; three grandchildren, Amber Huebner and her husband Ralph, Sarah Smith, and Aaron Smith; a great-grandson, Storm McFarland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 5th at St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. Visitation will be held at St. Katharine's from 10:30 AM on Monday, June 5th until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens; Fr. Keith Boivert will be the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Toni's memory may be made to any Catholic charity.
