Ms. Anna "June" Routzahn's Obituary
Anna “June” Routzahn, 93, of Middletown, MD passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024. June was born August 4, 1930, to the late Earl Routzahn and Olive Young. She was raised on a farm by her grandparents and always held a special place in her heart for her grandpap, Stanley Young. Lovingly known as Nanny (and later Hula Nanny) to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, June touched many lives as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and avid knitter. For decades, June, knit hundreds, if not thousands, of hats for the newborn babies born at FMH as well as making scarves and afghans for family and friends. June was known to many in the Frederick community for her active service in the Moose, Eagles, and Redman Club. She held various leadership roles within these organizations volunteering and supporting veterans, women, and those in need. She briefly owned Yellow Cab in Frederick and considered herself a “professional” driver. June also was a diehard sports fan and you could frequently find her cheering on her beloved Oreos (Orioles).
Surviving are her children: Glenda Brown (Ron), Charles King (Zeda), Judy Nuessle (Daniel), Angela Wilkes (Michael), Pamela Baranowski (Carl), 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister Roseline Burrier (Frank) and sister-in-law Marlene Routzahn. She is preceded in death by children: Glen King Jr, James King, Kenneth King, Harry “Billy” King, Matthew “Wayne” King, grandson Parker Baranowski, and her siblings: Miriam, Charlotte, Earl “Dusty”, Stanley “Cally”, and Lorraine.
Memorial service will be held on August 16th at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10-11am. Memorial service to follow at 11am.

Though her days may be through, June’s memory will live on in all the ways she has touched her community and those she loved. May we all be reminded to live one day at a time…
