Ann L. Simon of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on December 29, 2017 at Montevue Home in Frederick, MD. Born on June 26, 1918, in Grafton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Stanley B. and Sophia (Breski) Stemp. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Arthur C. Simon. Ann was a homemaker and worked part time. She was a long time member of St. Timothy's Church in Frederick and was a member of their Altar Guild for many years. For the last 30 years she attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Frederick. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed her cats, gardening and home decorating. Her gentle, soft spoken nature and warm smile will be remembered dearly and greatly missed. She is survived by daughters, Dovey Ann and her husband Bruce, and Jean Marie White; grandchildren, Todd B. Kaetzel and his wife, Danielle; Richard C. and Brian G. White; great grandchildren, Hunter, Ella, Austin and Brennan; sister, Leoda Wagner. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Helen McPartland, Rose Miller, Frank, Leo and Charles Stemp. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A celebration of Ann's life journey will follow at 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Joanne Tetrault will officiate. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to All Saints Episcopal Church, Frederick, MD and/or American Cancer Society.
