Obituary
Andrew Pierce Smith, 23, of Baltimore, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2014. He was the son of David and Lisa Smith of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Born September 14, 1991 in Columbia, SC, Andrew was Baptized on July 31, 2005 in the Atlantic Ocean by Pastor Shonn Keels of Carolina Forest Community Church. He attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities and earned his Bachelor's of Music degree from the Johns Hopkins University Peabody Conservatory. He played the French horn with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony as well as freelancing with several local quintets. He volunteered for several months at the Ronald McDonald House and also worked at Sascha's Restaurant & Catering in Baltimore. In addition to his loving parents, Andrew is survived by two brothers, David Matthew Smith and Joshua Kirk Downey & fiancAC. Ashley Williamson; his grandmother Margaret Catherine Kirk; his niece, Layla Isabella Downey; his very close friends Steph & Liza; his best friend Cody; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 21st from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. (U.S. Rt. 15 N), Frederick, MD, where a funeral service will begin Wednesday, Oct. 22nd at 5PM. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens; floral tributes are welcome.
