Obituary
Mr. Alton Ferrell Dorman, Jr., 89, of Frederick, MD and formerly of Palm Bay, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2017. He was the loving husband of Dolores Dorman, his wife of nearly 60 years. Born in Washington, DC, Alton was the son of the late Alton, Sr. and Lillian C. (Humes) Dorman. He attended Eastern High School in the District before beginning his career as a painting contractor. He eventually owned his own painting business, working in the greater Washington, DC area for 50 years before retiring and moving with Dolores to Palm Bay. He loved fishing, boating, and camping, spending time with his family, and traveling with Dolores on cruise ships and visiting the Western States and Canadian Rockies. Mr. Dorman was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lois; sons, John Charles Dorman, Sr. and Kerry Michael Dorman; a daughter-in-law, Lois Dorman; and son-in-law, Tim Hughes. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Dorman is survived by three daughters, Vicky Wagner (Ernie), Debra Thompson, and Linda King (Kenny, Sr.); eleven grandchildren, John "Chuck" Dorman, Jr., Kenneth Hill, Jr. Samuel Wagner, David Harrison, Christopher Harrison, Jessica Harrison, Jason Harrison, Skye Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Heather Wade, and Kenny King, Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren (+2 on the way); and many cousins, friends and other relatives. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 28th at Liberty Fellowship, 11950 North St., Libertytown, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Dorman's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
