Obituary
Mr. Alonzia "Lonnie" Jones Carpenter, 64, of Frederick, Maryland, entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. Born on September 30th, 1952 in Culpeper, VA. He was the beloved son of the late Dorothy Viola Jones Carpenter and Ralph Theodore Carpenter, Sr. Lonnie attended Virginia Public Schools and he served in the military as a Marine. Throughout the years - Lonnie was employed as a Construction Worker. Lonnie enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Animal Channel, and listening to Jazz Music. Surviving are his three devoted children; Sharnell Bowens and fiancAC. Jerry Smith, Dwight Eric Bowens and wife Carmen, and Larry Bowens and fiancAC. Joanette Disney. To cherish his memories, he leaves behind two sisters; Sandra Carpenter Legg and Sylvia Carpenter Wood. His devoted grandchildren; Sheka, Keyana, Jerry, Jerron, Jerrell, Brittany, Larry, Erica, Isaiah, Michelle, Devaun, Darius, Eric, and Alea. He also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. Devoted friends are Michael Goines, Petie Cooper, and Leo Harding. Lonnie was preceded in death by his lifetime companion - Doris A. Bowens; his siblings - Opal Ann and Ralph, Jr; and his mother-in-law Adelene Diggs. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 11 AM- Noon at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a Going Home Service will begin at noon.
