Obituary
Mr. Allen Ray Summers, 76, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2017. He was the loving husband of the late Hilda Mae Summers for 41 years. Born August 13, 1940 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Allen Summers and Evelyn Burkett Summers. Mr. Summers worked for many years in the electronics industry as a supervisor. He was a true diehard Washington Nationals and Redskins fan who was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, BINGO and watching movies. He loved all dogs and his biggest joy was spending time with his family. He is survived by his children; James Hinerman and wife Ann, Charles Hinerman and wife Wanda, Bonnie Long and husband Dean, Linda Poole and husband Michael, Sheila Summers-Oldach, and Christina Russell and husband Tom. Fourteen grandchildren. Brothers; Lester Summers and wife Helen, Ronald Summers and wife Janie, Sister; Anna (Sis) Burkett and husband John. Special Friend; Barbara Wilson. Numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his wife he was proceeded in death by his Son; Richard Hinerman and Grandson; John Guassardo. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12th from 6-8 PM at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a service will be held on Thursday, July 13th at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating.
