Mr. Allan B. Moss' Obituary
Allan Moss November 24, 1958 - July 3, 2024 To his colleagues, he was known as the Sound Guy with the catchphrases 'ROOOOOMTONE!," and 'Okey Dokie.' To his friends, he was known as the funny guy with the big heart and the stories. And to his family, he was the loving brother, uncle, husband, and father. Allan Moss, 65, of Frederick, MD, died at his home surrounded by family and loved ones on July 3, 2024. Allan was bor in Trinidad on November 24th, 1958. And he never let anyone forget it. Many of his stories started with the phrase: 'Growing up in Trinidad... He was proud of his heritage and where he came from. As a teenager, Allan and his family moved to New York, where he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. From 1981 - 1986, Allan was part of the United States Armed Forces. He served honorably, protecting his adopted country. Allan served with the Second Marine Amphibious Division, 1833 Amtrak Crewman. It is during this time that Allan found his love for travel. He was stationed all over the world, from Europe to Asia, until his honorable discharge in 1986. After the Marine Corps, Allan worked in the food industry for a number of years, until his brother-in-law asked him to be his assistant on a television show. From there, Allan worked as a sound supervisor on numerous television productions, commercials and films for nearly 20 years. It is during this time that he developed his signature 'ROOMTONE call out for which he became known. It became so well known that if you asked if a person ever worked with Allan, the response would invariably be: You mean Roomtone?, followed almost immediately by '1 love that guy." Allan left an indelible mark wherever he went. He had an uncanny ability to assess the atmosphere of a room and 'go with the flow.' He was able to tum strangers into friends after just barely meeting someone. And everybody who was fortunate to meet him will tell you the same thing- he is such a great guy. There is really no other way to explain it. He lived an incredibly complete life filled with so much happiness and love, and he shared it with everybody. Allan is survived by his nephew, Ronnie Bootan, brothers, Collin and Terrance.and sister Sandy’s . He is also survived by his wife Michelle . They met on July 3rd, 2000. After dating for a period of time (both Allan and Michelle blame each other for their break-up), they re-connected in 2014 and never looked back. Allan and Michelle married right here in Frederick and on July 10th, 2015 brought their son, Dylan, into the world, Allan insisted on giving Michelle a Hindu wedding ceremony, which was held on June 30, 2019, in Trinidad with family and friends. His family meant the world to Allan, and he spoke lovingly about his wife and he was full of pride when talking about Dylan. It has been a true blessing to have had Allan in our lives. Dr. Suess wrote: 'Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.' And we are so very happy that it happened. Thank you, Allan. ROOOOMTONE! Thank you Michelle
