Allan Byrne's Obituary
Allan Byrne, 67, of Germantown, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at The Casey House in Derwood, MD. Allan was born on November 19, 1957, in Glasgow, Scotland to John and Ellen (Dickson) Byrne.
Allan was married to his beloved wife, Susan, for 37 years. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and shared adventures. Allan especially cherished spending time with his family creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ellen Byrne, his sister Margaret Munro and brother John Byrne VI.
Allan Byrne was a hard working home improvement contractor for over 30 years. He started his own business in the early 1990’s. Allan did a lot of work throughout the DMV area over the years. There was no job he would turn down, if it was something he hadn’t done before, he would master that new skill. He taught his kids over the years when they would come and help on jobs. He worked hard and long, but never gave up. His dedication, tenacity and diligence are traits that his family will continue to carry on in his remembrance for years to come.
Family and friends will remember Allan for his kindness, generosity and never ending humor. Allan was able to talk to anyone and talk for ages. He could make a friend anywhere he went. With his storytelling and jokes he could make anybody laugh. Allan loved his family and would do anything to help anyone. Allan would give the shirt off his back and never hesitated in a moment of need. He loved animals, especially cats and dogs. He was known for carrying pocketfuls of dog biscuits to hand out to neighbors dogs while out working. He did not have any grandchildren, however, he had three grand dogs that he treated as his own. Jack the Havanese, Wallace the Boxer and Valo the Great Pyrenees were his three favorite furry best friends. They together created so many happy, funny memories that we as his family can continue to cherish in his absence. Allan will be deeply missed by those that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter Jacquelyne Byrne (Bobby Fogle), son John Byrne VII (Tara Schlosser) and daughter Jennifer Byrne (Mike Dezzino) and many more including family and close friends.
There will be a celebration of life being held in the summer of 2026 with the date and location to follow.
Although he is no longer with us, our family finds comfort knowing he will live on with us through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared with us, and the memories we created together that will live on forever.
