A. Jeanne Main, 81, of Walkersville, MD passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 following a long valiant battle with heart disease. She was surrounded by her family, friends and an abundance of prayers.Born February 25, 1934, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lois Thomas.She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gordon Main, who died in 2002. They were awarded the Papal Blessing by the Pope in honor of their many years of marriage.She graduated from Frederick High School in 1952 and continued to enjoy luncheon gatherings with her classmates up until her illness. She was a member of the Glade Valley Seniors and participated in all their activities. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Scooter.Jeanne and her husband, Gordon, were dairy farmers in the Walkersville area for 23 years. Following her retirement from farming, Jeanne became an instructional assistant at Rock Creek School. She truly enjoyed this position for nine years before fully retiring in 2001.She was a member of Frederick Farm Bureau, life member of Frederick County Agriculture Society and a member of the Red Hat Society. Jeanne was a deeply faith-filled Catholic of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Walkersville. She attended daily mass and her church family was very precious to her. She was the organist at the church for 19 years, sang with the church choir, was a Eucharistic Minister, was part of the church funeral ministry and had received the Archdiocesan Medal of Honor.She is survived by her children, Monroe and wife, Emma Main, Jeannine and husband, Wade Sr. Milyard all of Walkersville and Melissa Main of Frederick. She also leaves to cherish her memories grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Craig and wife, Erin Main and their children, Evan, Ava, Lila and Owen of Hagerstown, Andrew and wife, Anne Main and their children, Drew and Addison, of Taneytown, Wade Jr. and wife, Jeana Milyard and their children, Austin and Jocelen of Walkersville, Todd and wife, Whitney Milyard of Alameda, CA, Melissa and husband, Matthew Proctor and their son, Maverick, of Walkersville and Luke and wife, Haley Milyard and their children, Kendal, Audrey and Tharon of Suffolk, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers, Ralph, Jr. and wife, Carol Ann Thomas and Jon and wife, Jan Thomas; sister, Mary Baker; and brother-in-law, Ned Kefauver.She was predeceased in death by a granddaughter, Kari Jean Main, in 2003; sisters, Virginia Koontz and Diane Kefauver.The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Walkersville with Monsignor Richard Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.Memorial donations may be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church or to Rock Creek School in her memory.Arrangements have been entrusted to Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
