Mr. Rogelio Maya Arellano Jr., 41, of Frederick, Maryland, died unexpectedly on July 3, 2021.
Born November 20, 1979, he was the son of Rogelio Maya Rivera and Adulfa Arellano of Frederick, Maryland.
In addition to his parents, Rogelio is survived by his children, Alex, 19 and Brianna, 15 of Chesapeake, VA and their mother, Sabrina Moss. He is also survived by his siblings, their spouses and several nieces and nephews: Robert and wife, Mary and their children Emily, Abigail and Andrew; Rocio Hernandez and husband Chayo and their children, Isabel and Litzel; Rubi and her fiancé CJ Burwell and their children Makaila and Mason; Cristal and her fiancé, Anthony Bowie and their daughter Skye. Additionally, Rogelio is survived by his dogs, Happy and Toby.
Rogelio is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, grandmother and cousins in Texas and Mexico. He will be remembered by a multitude of friends in the Frederick area as well.
Rogelio was a long time resident of Frederick. He graduated Frederick High School in 1999. Rogelio was hard worker and talented painter. He spent many years in the family painting business, RM Painting. His hobbies included but were not limited to fishing, kayaking and sightseeing, cooking, DIY projects, spending time with his loved ones and with his dogs. Rogelio was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and he enjoyed attending sporting events with his brother, son and daughter. Rogelio took great pride in his collection of fish and their aquarium habitats in his home.
Rogelio will be most remembered by his genuine love of life, family, culture and friends. He was a devoted father, brother, son and uncle whose personality and joy of living filled the atmosphere around him. His outgoing personality, honesty and enthusiasm will be honored forever by those who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9th from 5 – 8 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 10 th at St. Timothy Catholic Church 8651 Biggs Ford Rd. in Walkersville. Procession and interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Floral tributes are welcome.
