Obituary

Dale James Dixon of Gettysburg, PA passed away at Commonwealth Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD on January 4, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Cindy Jean Dixon who passed away on November 25, 2021
Born on April 2, 1949 in Brunswick, MD to Kenneth James and Lucille Virginia Dixon, Dale was the younger brother of Kenneth Leo Dixon.  Dale grew up in Brunswick and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1967.  He was a member of the West Virginia Air National Guard and did basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas and served in the reserves afterward.  He went on to have a long career with the Department of Energy, which allowed him to travel throughout the US and many places in the world.  He retired from the DOE in 2004 after over 30 years of service.
Dale enjoyed music (most notably, he was an avid Beatles fan), coaching baseball, writing poetry and vintage Corvettes.  In his later years, he liked caring for his property and feeding the birds and squirrels that called the trees around his house their home.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother and his daughter, Cassie L. (Dixon) Oley of Pittsburgh, PA
Dale is survived by his sons Dustin Dixon of Hagerstown, MD and Richard Dixon and his wife Colleen of South Riding, VA; his grandchildren Jasmine, Nicholas, and Isabelle Macker of Mt. Airy, MD, Gabriella Oley of Mckees Rocks, PA, and Noah and Jeremy Dixon of South Riding, VA; his sister-in-law Nancy Dixon of Frederick, MD; his nephews Keith Dixon and his wife Catherine (Liz) and Lance Dixon and his wife Kymberli of Frederick, MD; and many other cousins and extended family members
