Clay Bolling was born on 7 October 2000 and graduated from Walkersville High School in 2019. Sadly, he passed away on Monday 26 July 2021, at the age of 20 after losing his battle with cancer.
He was currently enrolled at Frederick Community College and was preparing to transfer to the University of Maryland next fall. His passions were many, including computer science, running (completing his first half marathon at the age of ten), skateboarding, electronics and woodworking (building his first guitar at the age of eighteen) and, qualifying in Expert in 10 meter precision air rifle; however, he was most alive with a guitar in his hands sharing the stage with his younger brother. He formed an original punk band, The Xiles, at the age of 16, recorded 3 EPs, a 7 inch record, various compilations, and played with over 100 bands, including national acts, throughout the local area.
He is survived by his parents, Jon and Donna Bolling and younger brother Ty Bolling; grandparents, David and Miriam Bolling and Dixon and Hye Ok Hoyle. He is also survived by two aunts, Jennifer Laggini and Jeanne Hoyle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday 22 August 2021 from 2pm to 6pm (2-3pm Opening, 3-4pm remembrance by friends and family, 4-6pm Celebration of Life (refreshments will be served), at Resthaven, 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy (US Route 15 North), Frederick MD.
