Carol Jean Newbury Geiser, 87, of Frederick, and formerly of Ocala, Florida, passed from this life to be with Jesus her Savior, at Edenton Retirement Community in Frederick on March 17, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd Winfield Geiser for 58 years. Born January 19, 1930 in East Greenbush, New York to the late Edgar and Beulah Newbury, Carol loved her home and family as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as loving wife. She was raised by a dairy farming family growing up who loved to ice skate, read, play piano, and spending time with her horse, Sparky. She and Lloyd loved to travel to such places as Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and Moracco. And she loved her dog "Peaches". Carol was a big collector of Shirley Temple memorabilia and both her and Lloyd were charter members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg, and longtime members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Damascus. She is survived by her son; Gregory Geiser. Daughters; Susan Geiser and Gail Peron and husband Wayne. Grandson; Ted Gladden and wife Heather. Granddaughters; Jeanette Gladden, Sara Peron and Taylor Peron. Great-grandchildren; Kara Gladden, Daphne Gladden, Katelynn Lewis, Casey Lewis and Ava Bond. And numerous cousins from the Swab and Newbury families. And special cousin James Swab. In addition to Lloyd, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bradford Lodge, a fighter pilot who was killed in the line of duty in Korea. And by "Peaches", her beloved dog. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1st from 1-2 PM at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a service will begin at 2 pm with Pastor Charles Conley officiating.
