How We Help

PRE-PLANNING

Resthaven actively works to help families and individuals avoid unexpected cost as well as emotional overspending; by educating the public on these costs, and how to stop them from inflating.

By making these inevitable decisions with a clear mind and a controlled budget, one can save their loved ones’ additional emotional stress by avoiding financial turmoil.

VETERAN'S GARDENS

Resthaven offers spaces without charge* for pre-arrangement to honorably discharged Veterans, with adjoining lots available for purchase.

In 1971, noting the great liability to Maryland's taxpayers for Veteran Cemeteries, Resthaven created our first Veteran's Garden, the Veteran's Garden of Honor

This garden was personally dedicated by former Secretary of the Navy the Honorable J. William Middendorf III. In the center is a unique and beautiful sculpture of the legendary Phoenix, a legendary symbol of eternal life.

The Veteran's Garden II features an Omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet, meaning that which is great, eternal, and final.

In addition, centered along the drive just forward of the Statue Of Christus, is the China, Burma, India Memorial, dedicated to those who have lost their lives in that region.

 SERVICE TO COMMUNITY

Over the years, Resthaven has served as a pinnacle of support and as a responsive partner to our community.

We have collected donations and supplied equipment to Frederick Memorial Hospital, the Weinberg center, Jeannie Bussard center and the former Senior Citizens center, and many others in our area.

Resthaven also periodically sponsors seminars on dealing with death and dying, with Frederick Community Collage, as well as area Churches, Synagogues and other religious and civic organizations.

Our seminars not only deal with emotional grief, but on how to avoid the high costs which we all too often encounter at such vulnerable times.

 PETLAND at RESTHAVEN

Resthaven is “dedicated to memorializing loved ones with honor, respect and love.” We believe this applies to all members of the family.

Resthaven is a pet friendly establishment. Many who visit our office are sometimes greeted by our therapy dog, Lex.

Upon request, pets are welcome to committal, and other on-site services of their family members.  We have had services for pets as well, including some working and rescue dogs.

On a regular basis Petland at Resthaven  offers complete pet burial and cremation services, and includes the area’s only pet niche columbarium.
